Snoring has become a very common action, it is involuntary on behalf of the person who does it. Among adults, half of that population snores occasionally and almost half of them snore frequently. Snoring might be seen in children too. Males and overweight persons are more like to become snores compare with the rest of the population, even thou it can be experience by females and children too. Another factor is age, the older the snorer becomes the worse the snoring gets.
Snoring is the result of a blocked or obstructed flow of air in the mouth and nasal passages. Right before the person gets into a deep sleep, they start snoring. This is the stage where tha muscles in the throat, soft palate and tongue relax to a point where the block the airway and vibrate at the same time, producing the snoring sound everybody knows by now. When the air passages are narrower, the tissues vibrates more, and the passage of air turns more vigorous the snoring gets louder.
Why Do People Snore?
There is an average of 45 people out of every one hundred that are currently snorers. Even though the majority are males, females can snore too. Overweight people are more likely to suffer from snore, as well as if you are suffering from any kind of cold, flu, allergies.
All these factors can cause a person to snore.

Snoring is the vibration of the respiratory structures due to loose nasal tissue. The obstruction of the air movement down the wind pipe as we sleep is the major cause of snoring, and more likely when the person is lying on the back. The person who suffers the most is the partner who would probably be kept awake by the loud sound for hours during the night.
When it comes to the causes of snoring, there are many mentioned nowadays, from sleeping in the wrong position to age. Now, if age is a factor, why do children can also snore? well, it is possible and actually people find a baby or kid snoring very cute and most of the time they stop and watch them snore. Apnea is another way to call snoring, and it can affect strongly to the snorer partner so it is something to look at seriously. There’s also structural causes for snoring which include: having a large tongue, narrow jaws, enlarged nostrils, small nasals and a thick soft palate. When the tongue and the upper throat joins the soft palate and the uvula snores occurs. The air that goes freely through the windpipe is blocked.
Alcohol is another cause of snoring. If a person drinks at a point where the muscles in the throat relaxes, that person will snore and this is due to the sedative effect in alcohol. If the adult has a crooked nose, he can suffer from snoring as well, and this is due to the chronic nasal congestion.
